A Matter of Time

When someone makes plans to go someplace, it is better to be early than to be late. With taking a bus, that is no exception since we all have to be at a designated location at a specific time. I usually arrive at my bus stop roughly 5 minutes early. Whenever I arrive at the stop, I tend to see a small amount of people doing something to keep them preoccupied, whether it be reading a book, listening to music, or gazing at their phones. The lack of verbal communication at the stop is very apparent, especially since many people don't have the initiatives to start a conversation at random. I tend to follow suit and begin to take out my iPod and start rocking to some tunes while I wait for the bus. Once in a while I check the time and wonder when the bus will arrive. I see the people around me and most of them start to wonder the same. The bus never arrives at the designated time so many of us are worried if either we missed it or it's running really late. Either way, I see a few angry faces at the bus stop so I wonder if those people may take an alternative mode of transportation at a later date. Throughout the semester, I've noticed that out of the 10 bus riders what wait with me, only two haven't been showing up recently so there's a possibility that they have abandoned the bus in favor of the typical car mode. Still, this percentage isn't too large since I still see the majority of the riders at the stop since the beginning of the semester.
